Mamma’s Sweet and Savory Pork Chops

Not only does mamma know best, but she also does it better!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 45 minutes to an hour

Servings: 4


  • 4 thick cut pork chops
  • 1 sweet yellow onion
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 bottle Heinz Chili Sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar


  1. Preheat your oven to 325 F
  2. Mix the brown sugar with the chili sauce until blended
  3. Peel the onion and slice it into ¼ inch disks
  4. Slice the lemon into ¼ inch disks
  5. Place the pork chops onto a baking sheet or an oven safe cast iron skillet.
  6. Place one disk of the onion followed by one disk of the lemon on top of each pork chop
  7. Heavily Cover each of the pork chops with the brown sugar/ chili sauce mix
  8. Bake the pork chops in the oven for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until they reach an internal temperature of 155f-160f
